Saturn Ion Compatibility

The Saturn Ion is not 100% compatible and might require custom work.

We haven't dug deep into an Ion to see what all is different between that car and the Cobalt but on a quick inspection we noticed some differences. We are concerned that there could be so many differences that you'd have to spend a lot of time adapting the Goblin chassis or you’d need to use the Ion and a little bit of a Cobalt donor to finish your Goblin.

For example, we supply custom machined pieces to relocate the brake fluid reservoir because in its original location it would stick up out of the hood. The master cylinder and reservoirs on the Ion are completely different so it would be up to you to make sure they clear the hood and are mounted securely. You might be better off using Cobalt pieces to use our adapters but you’d have to make sure the Cobalt pieces work with the Ion pedals.

The gauge cluster is different so it wouldn't mount to our chassis without some custom parts.

We don’t know if there are any other differences so we can’t say for sure if using an Ion is an okay way to go.
