How does the kit process work?
Kit Process
The short version is just three steps: buy a donor, buy a kit and build the Goblin. Here’s the longer version:
- Obtain a donor car
- Most builders get the donor car from a salvage auction
- You’ll need a whole donor to get all of the pieces you need
- Order a Goblin kit
- The best way to order is on our website: http://dfkitcar.com/order.php
- Your Goblin order needs to match the donor you are using (base, SS/SC or SS/TC)
- Strip your donor
- Harvest all of the pieces you’ll need from your donor: http://dfkitcar.com/files/detailed-donor-part-list.pdf
- Pick up or receive your Goblin kit
- Most builders make a road trip to pick up their Goblin kit
- Kits that aren’t picked up have to ship by freight or hotshot delivery
- We can only do hotshot delivery if there is another kit or two headed your way
- If the kit is shipped by freight there is a $400 crating fee
- Build your Goblin kit
- You’ll use the pieces from your donor and the Goblin kit to build your car
- Register with your state
- Registration varies by state but in general you have to prove ownership of the kit and donor car and pass an inspection.
